Guided SOMA Breathwork session for nervous system reset.

SOMA Breathwork for a Deep Nervous System Reset

Your Breath is the Remote Control for Your Nervous System

Most of us go through life breathing on autopilot — short, shallow, and fast.
This kind of breathing keeps your body in alert mode, sending the signal: “We’re under threat!”
Over time, this leads to anxiety, poor sleep, tension, and even chronic illness.

But with SOMA Breathwork, we flip the script.
It’s like hitting the “reset” button for your nervous system — melting stress, regulating your mood, and restoring your natural energy flow.

What is SOMA Breathwork?

SOMA Breathwork blends rhythmic breathing, music, and guided visualization to activate your body’s rest-and-digest state.
This practice draws from ancient pranayama techniques while being adapted for the modern nervous system’s challenges.

In a session, you’ll:

  • Follow a guided breathing rhythm synced to music.

  • Practice brief breath holds to boost oxygen efficiency.

  • Drop into deep relaxation while reprogramming limiting patterns.

How SOMA Breathwork Resets the Nervous System

  1. Activates the Parasympathetic Nervous System

    • Signals your body to rest, digest, and heal.

  2. Balances CO₂ and O₂ Levels

    • Improves blood flow and oxygen delivery to cells.

  3. Releases Stored Tension & Trauma

    • Long-held stress patterns start to dissolve.

  4. Boosts Feel-Good Neurochemicals (D.O.S.E.)

    • You leave feeling blissed-out, clear, and energized.

My First SOMA Breathwork Session Changed Everything

The first time I tried SOMA Breathwork, I wasn’t expecting much — just “another breathing exercise.”
But 15 minutes in, I felt my entire body buzzing.
It was like my nervous system had been carrying a weight for years, and suddenly, someone lifted it.
I slept like a baby that night, and the anxiety I’d been carrying felt… distant.

How to Try It at Home

Step 1: Find a quiet space where you can sit or lie comfortably.
Step 2: Play music with a steady rhythm (there are free SOMA Breath tracks online).
Step 3: Inhale for 4 beats, exhale for 4 beats — no pause.
Step 4: After 1–2 minutes, take a deep inhale, hold your breath for 15–30 seconds, then exhale slowly.
Step 5: Repeat for 10–15 minutes.

Why This Matters

You don’t have to stay stuck in stress mode.
Your body has a built-in system for restoring peace — you just have to remember how to use it.
And it starts with the breath.
